The Eagle Farm Racecourse is host to the next bout of exciting action in the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival this Saturday, as the AAMI Stradbroke Raceday hits the track, with many top quality horses drawing attention.

While Queensland’s richest race the $1 million Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (2400m), headlines the proceedings, the bumper eight-race card will be closed with the esteemed Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m).
The $250,000 purse race has seen a full 18 field of three-year-olds form the line up and is promising to produce a great ending to a fantastic day of racing.

While the Bart Cummings-trained colt is hoping to be called in as the first emergency in the prestigious Stradbroke Handicap, the three-year-old has drawn well with the middle barrier for the Queensland Guineas.
Having placed in all of his last three starts, Latin News will certainly be one to watch if he does start on Saturday.
Another contender for the 2010 Queensland Guineas is Rothesay trained by Gerald Ryan, and goes into the weekend at $3.40.
Although the colt has drawn wide with barrier 17, the winner of the Lord Mayor Stakes (1615m) at the end of May will be looking to give arch rival Latin News a fight on the track.
The duo are a clear favourites in the odds – with the only other starter to have single digit odds being Carrara at $8.50.
Trained by Tony Vasil, the Elvstroem colt ran poorly in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) two weeks ago, but with the safe sixth alley, could be another contender for the 2010 Queensland Guineas.
Other races going ahead at Eagle Farm this weekend are the Group 1 Queensland Derby (2400m), the Group 1 TJ. Smith (1600m) and the Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2400m).
